In the time of Halloween, we hear and talk about monsters, ghosts, vampires and witches. It's a fun time for kids as they go about trick or treating, they don't see the relevance of the celebration. Or the energy associated with the time. The dark side of Halloween.
Childhood Memories of Halloween
I remember, as a kid being so excited to dress up and go from door to door collecting sweets and fruit. Usually from our lovely neighbours on Mangerton Road, where everybody cared for everybody else. As I would knock on doors, some neighbours would give me a hug, wow, how that one has changed. But I always recall as I went from door to door, I'd be a little frightened, but I never knew why back then.
The older kids would gather timbers and combustibles and light a raging bonfire. More often than not, on the roundabout, and have fun watching it burn. We seemed to be oblivious to the dangers of fire itself. Of course, we had no idea what the bonfire was all about, nor had we any clue as to what Halloween was about either. As I grew older I began to dislike this particular time of year more and more, and at the time, I didn't pay too much attention as to why until a number of years ago.
Where The Dark Halloween Originated
Since Halloween itself originated in paganism, it is not surprising that its customs are related to pagan beliefs. According to the Encyclopaedia Britannica. It's interesting that Halloween is a Celtic festival and has been celebrated since the 5th century in Celtic origin countries.
In ancient Britain and Ireland, the Celtic Festival of Samhain was observed on October 31, at the end of summer…. The souls of the dead were supposed to revisit their homes on this day. Then the autumnal festival acquired sinister significance. With ghosts, witches, goblins, black cats, fairies and demons of all kinds said to be roaming about. It was the time to placate the supernatural powers controlling the processes of nature. In addition, Halloween was thought to be the most favourable time for divination concerning marriage, luck, health, and death. It was the only day on which the devil's help was invoked for such purposes.
Modern Day Halloween
In our modern day, we have become only too good at harnessing good Light energy and, of course, bad Dark energy. As I journeyed on my path of learning about Light, Energy and Healing, I also learned there was dark sinister energy that lurked in men's hearts, and it was alive and well and stronger than I ever thought possible. Dark witches, satan worship, satanic rituals, witchcraft and a whole lot more were rife and strong in the world and in our own Catholic Ireland.
There was a realisation for me that the universal rules of cause and effect or the principle of causation were very clear. The Yin and Yang principle was indeed true. In the Yin and Yang principle, it demonstrates that we cannot have Happiness without sadness. We cannot have good without bad. We cannot have Light without dark. For if we do not have the opposites how would we know the difference?
The Dark Side Of Halloween
The dark lords of the Universe use this time of Halloween to invoke the darkness in the hearts of men who are susceptible to that influence. This time is used for all the dark rituals I have outlined in a bid to harness the strongest dark forces available. I am sure those of us that follow a Lightpath, have experienced an odd calmness on the day after Halloween. This is brought on by the realisation that the influx of the dark lords of the previous day had receded again until the next year.
That is not to say that the dark forces have receded. Only the invokers of that energy have receded. I am not suggesting I this article not to dress up, have fun, trick or treat or party. I am suggesting to be mindful of who you associate with and the places you might go. Be mindful of the energy that lurks in the shadows waiting to consume your Light. When you are mindful and protective of self at these times and indeed at all times. Dark energy has a much more difficult job in hooking into us.
Keep The Dark Away From Those You Love
Alcohol abuse, drug abuse and substance abuse are all easy doorways for this energy to hook into our Light and, just like the vampire, suck the life force from us.
